Reports directly to:       Engineering Supervisor

Classification:              Exempt 

 

Position Summary:      Responsible for creating all computer engineered specifications and instruction manuals for prototype and production purposes. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

1. Work with Prototype department to help engineer parts.
2. Create detail drawings of prototyped or manufactured parts. May include wire, sheet metal, wood, plastic or other materials.
3. Responsible for creating engineering drawings for prototypes and productions jobs.
4. Responsible for creating instruction manuals for production jobs.
5. Responsible for all refinement or changes necessary on previously created or current engineering drawings or instruction manuals.
6. Must convert all engineering details, drawings and instruction manuals to PDF files for public access and archiving.
7. Responsible for converting parts to compatible files (DXF) for CNC production.
8. Must work with Project Managers and Inventory Control personnel in regards to Bill of Materials and part numbers.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A high school education is required.
2. Degree in 3 dimensional design CAD/Engineering is required (SolidWorks preferred) or 2 years work experience.
3. Must be PC literate. (understand Windows OS and standard file structures)
4. Proficiencies in the following software preferred: Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
